empowered by the Act to<\/p><ul><li>\u00a0Issue,renew,suspend or revoke any licence; and<\/li><li>Issue directives to licensees and impose terms and conditions on licensees; and<\/li><li>Issue guidelines to licensees; and<\/li><li>Approve rules of gambling, lottery games, sweepstakes and lotteries; and<\/li><li>impose any financial penalty for non-compliance with the conditions of a licence, rules, directions or guidelines;<\/li><li>approve any event or contingency on which betting is to be conducted; and<\/li><li>Register lottery retailers.<\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1862\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Complaints<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1862\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1862\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p>Any person who is aggrieved by activities regulated uder the GRA act may make a complaint in writting to the Authority.<\/p><p>The Inspectorate section will investigate on the matter and appropriate action will be taken by the Authority.<\/p><p>No investigation will be undertaken in case a complaint is made one month after the date of the act.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1863\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Inspection and Investigation<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1863\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1863\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p>The main objective of the Inspection and Investigation team is to ensure compliance with provisions of the GRA Act and the relevant conditions and rules issued to ensure that gambling is conducted in a fair and transparent manner, and prevent gambling from being source of crime or disorder and also to protect children and vulnerable person from being harmed or exploited by gambling.<\/p><p>The Licensing and Inspection Unit thus conducts regular inspections at licensed premises to ensure compliance and report anomalies(if any) observed.<\/p><p>The \u2018Police des Jeux\u2019 which is a unit of the Mauritius Police Force comprising police officers designated by the Commissioner of Police has and may exercise the same powers as an inspector under the GRA Act. Thus, the &#8216;Police des Jeux&#8217; is equally empowered to carry out inspection and investigation on matters relating to Gambling Industry in Mauritius.<\/p><p>The GRA and the &#8216;Police des Jeux&#8217; do also work in close collaboration to address several gambling related issues.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"4\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1864\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Supervision of Lottery Draws<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1864\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"4\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1864\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><ul><li>As a condition to lottery, the promoter is required to deliver the Authority a complete detail of all prizes and a list of all eligible participants.<\/li><li>All lottery Draws should be effected under the Supervision of officers of the Authority .<\/li><\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-tab-title elementor-tab-mobile-title\" aria-selected=\"false\" data-tab=\"5\" role=\"tab\" tabindex=\"-1\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1865\" aria-expanded=\"false\">Registration of Bookmaker Clerk<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1865\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"5\" role=\"tabpanel\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1865\" tabindex=\"0\" hidden=\"hidden\"><p>In accordance with Section 49.
